Last night, i went down to the launch of Plan UK's brilliant new book. Based on the Because I am a Girl campaign that I'm heavily involved in, this book contains a collection of stories from seven top authors and novelists. They include extraordinary tales about the lives, struggles and hopes for the future, of girls and young women in some of the countries Plan works in.
The book is out now and all proceeds go towards the campaign.
For more details check out.. http://www.plan-uk.org/newsroom/biaagbooklaunch/
I can also reveal that I will be promoting the gorgeous bangle and canvas bag for the campaign.

Dan and Josh from new British rock group 'You Me at Six' came in to say hello last week to talk about sleeping in fans houses and the wonder of the megabus ( you can go anywhere in the country for a quid - how have I never heard about this!)
A big congrats to the lads whose album 'Hold Me Down' went in at no 5 in UK charts. Nice One.
Check out the vid for 'Underdog' - their first official single from their second album.

Last year Adidas Originals made a star studded advert for their latest 'Originals' colletion of clothes. A year on, they've got a new campaign inspired by Star Wars and Daft Punk.
David Beckham and Snoop Dogg make cameos in the new ad and theres also another well known character in there right at the end, see if you can spot who it is...

Marina and the Diamonds are tipped for huge things this year, already making the shortlist for MTVs 10 For 10 new acts of the year poll and she has already come runner-up in the BBC Sound of 2010, only second to a certain Miss. Ellie Goulding.
The 24 year-old has her new album ‘The Family Jewels’ coming out this month featuring the brilliant single 'Hollywood'. With lyrics such as ‘Hollywood infected your brain’, Marina is definitely worth a listen.
See what you think, here is her fab new video for 'Hollywood'…

He gave us that track last year which made us all wish we were back in Ibiza with a significant other - 'Watch The Sun Come Up' (originally about an experience he'd had in Norway!).
With a great follow up track, Example and his latest single 'Wont Go Quietly' is all about a girlfriend dreaming about her boyfriend before she's bagged her man whilst getting really frustrated about not being able to grab his attention. Make sense? Well, either way see for yourself, I'll let the brilliant video do the talking.

2009 saw the sharp rise in recognition for one of hip hops most elegant groups, Foreign Exchange. Dutch producer Nicolay and North Carolinas Phonte Coleman met one another whilst blogging. They began sharing and working on one another's pieces of music and before they knew it they had amassed enough material for their debut album “Connected”, released in 2004.
Sonically Nicolay reminds me of a cross between producer 9th wonder and chill out group zero 7, organically amalgamating genres to create his distinct ethereal sound. Teaming up with the exceptionally talented singer/rapper Phonte Coleman of Little Brother was a match made in heaven. “Connected” was highly acclaimed amongst the purists and was deemed a classic alternative hip hop album. Memorable tracks from the album include Nic’s groove and Sincere (their debut single release).
With the success of “Connected” Nicolay and Phonte began working on their sophomore album “Things Fall Apart”, financing and promoting the record themselves. The album was released in 2008 and was an instant hit amongst fans and fellow artists. When listening to the album its clear that no musical comprises were made as the two manage to successfully explore music as a genre of entertainment rather than hip hop as a genre of music.
Tracks such as “House of Cards” with its methodically collapsing rhythm and “Valediction’s” triple change of soulful motion are poles apart but compliment each other rather than hinder the overall cohesiveness of the album. Muhsinah puts in a stellar performance in the extremely relevant yet hauntingly beautiful highlight track “Daykeeper.” Later in 2009 “Daykeeper” was nominated for a Grammy in the “Best Urban/Alternative Performance” category, which in itself is testament to their organic connection.
In their five years Foreign Exchange have managed to put a spin on the controversial notion of hip hop, injecting a spark of much needed class and musicality into the genre. Fingers crossed for January.

Normally Will Smith is the box office heavyweight for films of this nature but new post apocalytic movie 'The Book Of Eli' stars academy award winner Denzel in the lead, in a role that looks like a new Mad Maxx story.

One of the most important artists of the last decade releases her new album this summer. And soon after quotes given to Rolling Stone and NME were put out she leaked this song...
It shows that just when you think you know M.I.A's sound she switches things up. The Sri-Lankan born London raised lady is working again with Diplo, Switch and Blaqstarr on the disc. Find out more in this story that some guy wrote here
Ryan Tedder and Eddie Fisher of One Republic joined me in studio for a quick chat yesterday. The last time I met the guys was at V Festival in 2008 so there was a lot of catching up to be had. Here at MTV HQ we're big fans of their new single 'All the right moves' and Ryan told me they took inspiration for the vid from Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut. Well.. you know, without all the nudity.
They did have Tom Cruise lined up to do a topless scene but then those damn scientologists got in his way. Ah well.. maybe for the next video.
Then the conversation turned weird (er). Ryan told me about a recent encouner the band had with X Factor's hair raising twins Jedward. Apparently they knew all about the twins but were left tongue tied when John and Edward bumped into them at their hotel and started their incoherent bablings at them, speaking over each other and at about a million miles an hour. That's when the band started to take some steps backwards and made a quick exit. Shame they ended up bumping into them again at their hotel again a few hours later. Those Irish boys are persistant.
One Republic's new album 'Waking Up' is out now.

I've known Tinie Tempah for a little while now and I know that he's been working really hard collaborating with a lot of talented artists such as the UK's very own Jay Sean.
However, his latest offering 'Pass Out' looks set to put him on the map. At the end of last year this video popped up in my inbox and since then I havent been able to get it out of my head.
