As part of my job as an MTV VJ, I get to travel the world meeting lots of amazing musicians and producers, covering festivals, awards shows, premieres and interviewing many actors. As part of my day job, it's fair to say I've seen A LOT of movies recently but every now and then a rare gem pops up and makes me think.. WOW.

The Adventures of Power is one of those 'wowzers!'

Think Napoleon Dynamite crossed with Spinal Tap.... It's an American feature film written and directed by the 'real' Ari Gold starring Ari Gold, Glee's Jane Lynch and Entourage hottie Adrian Grenier. Rush drummer and all round LEGEND Neil Peart also has a cameo role. Sweet!

The score is bloody fantastic too with original songs by Ethan Gold and hits by Rush, Mr. Mister, Judas Priest, Phil Collins, Dazz Band, Loverboy, Bow Wow Wow and Woody Guthrie.

The film premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and made its European debut at the 2008 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

But folks I am NOT A HAPPY LADY as it's never been released in the UK and Ireland. Luckily I managed to sneakily get a peek at it but what about all those poor sods who've been living life without this film...

After the success of Kidulthood and Adulthood, in my eyes it was inevitable that Noel Clarke would go on to write, direct and Star in another of his creations. Cue, 4,3,2,1!

If trailers are anything to go by, this movie looks as good as anything out at there at the moment. Fast paced, action filled accompanied by an intriguing story line that spans the Atlantic between London and New York!

The cast looks typically British, with Noel Clarke (like many directors before him) using actors from a strong core of which he has previously employed. Plan B and Adam Deacon to name a couple as well as new cameo's from the likes of U.S Hip Hop star Eve! ...not to mention the MTV NEWS connection :-) (Listen out for the voice over at the start of the trailer...Lol)

Holidays!! Well almost.. MTV Digs packed their bucket and spade and headed off to Brighton Beach last week.. it's one of the few places you can get to from London without worrying about that bloody ash cloud...

The fifth annual Great Escape music convention and festival saw skinny jean boys and leather clad ladies hit the sunny shores with wayfarers in tow. As a first timer in Brighton, I must say I was very impressed by the chilled atmosphere, blue skies and most importantly, good music! Rickie and I took base in our own special MTV Digs venue, slap bang in the middle of all the action. We had live MTV sessions from Wakefield's The Cribs, MTV ( and Melvin!) fav - Rox, Everything Everything and Irish lads General Fiasco.

Rickie and I also underwent the first GEDO ( Great Escape General Olympics).. it got pretty heated but you'll have to wait until the show is aired the first week of June on MTV to find out who won. I can reveal, however, that games included ' Deck Chair Challenge', 'Stone in the bucket challenge' and 'Rock n' roll challenge'.. oh yea tough work!

Gorgeous ladies Ellie Goulding and Marina ( without her Diamonds) and the brilliant (not too mention hilarious) Darwin Deez helped us 'fish for some answers., Also at the festival were The King Blues who won prizes for originality, by playing a series of truly unique shows in the sewer system under Brighton Pier - a world festival first.

We would have liked to stay longer but we realised we left Melvin home alone in London..and we all know the trouble that boy can get up to.

The former Manchester United star will join Didier Drogba, Cesc Fabregas, Steven Gerrard, David Villa and one other - yet to be revealed - soccer star for a high stakes kickabout in London shortly after the World Cup.

The A:3K event on July 17th will see 6 of the world’s best footballers go head-to-head in various tests of their ball skills, including power, precision, attack, control and curve (see pic above – better not get your hair near the flame Ron).

Reports suggest Wayne Rooney will be the final name to be added, and that they’re set to pocket over £500,000 each for taking part. Nice work if you can get it!

Melvin and I decided to go down to the Premiere of J-Lo’s new movie ‘The Back-Up Plan’ last week. The last time we saw the Hollywood A-Lister she was heavily pregnant with her twins and I was hosting her album playback session her last album. So we thought we’d try and get a sneak peak to see if she’s back to the Jennifer Lopez cola bottle figure of old…..oh yeah, and check out the movie!

Other people to grace the red carpet were Alexandra Burke, Kerry Katona and Simon Webbe from Blue.

With a garage-rock new track called Born Free. It’s a departure for the Sri-Lankan-born-London-raised-New-York-based singer but is also essentially nothing special.

The video on the other hand (Directed by Romain Gavras) is pretty bloody brilliant. It’s brutal, looks cool and of course has political meaning. What more do you want?

I caught up with Colonel Miles Quaritch aka Stephen Lang from Avatar this morning. He was in Londons Hyde Park along with a massive 'Tree of Life' promoting the DVD launch for the movie Avatar.

I quizzed Stephen about working with James Cameron, filming in 3D, losing out to the Hurt Locker at almost every top award ceremony recently and of course whether they'll be a sequel to the Epic Avatar story!

I recently met quirky new artist Kid Sister. Hailing from Chicago in the US the female rapper was endorsed early on by one of the biggest names in Music to come out of Chicago in recent years, Mr. Kanye West!

The pair collaborated on a track from the earlier stages of her career called 'Pro Nails'. Howvever, when she passed by MTV NEWS towers she promoted her latest single 'Daydreaming'.

'Daydreaming' has a softer sound to her previous efforts and definitely falls easier in to the bracket of 'Pop'. With nice harmonies and lyrics about daydreaming of a significant other - it's all very cute but she definitely pulls it off.
