Want to have your work of art displayed in the UN in New York? Want to make a difference? Then read on...
Run by children’s charity Plan and photographic organisation Shoot Experience in partnership with MTV, Shoot Nations offer young people a unique opportunity to express how they feel about the world they live in through pictures.
Plan is a charity I have been involved with for a while now and if you want to get involved in this competition - of course you do - you only have a few days left! So get snapping...
So what's involved?
Well, the competition is open to anyone between the ages of 11 and 25, with winning entries showcased at the powerhouse of global decision-making – the UN headquarters in New York.
Gender will have a strong influence over the competition, as we ask you to look carefully at your place in the world and whether you feel there are any limitations or opportunities that come from being born male or female.
All you have to do is pick a title:
'Because I am a girl' ,'Because I am a boy', 'What’s holding me back?' or 'Taking control'
The pic above is a photograph under the heading 'Because I am a girl' to give you an idea. It's of my little brother's soccer team playing against another team that had a girl playing. At this level boys and girls are allowed play as equal.
But your picture can be of anything at all - whether literal or abstract. Be creative. Be you.
A panel of judges including representatives from Plan, Shoot Experience and MTV will choose the top images, which will then be exhibited at the Oxo Tower in London from 23rd-27th September 2009.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Oxo Tower at a special winners party on September 22nd where I have the job of announcing the very lucky winner. Other people there include Deputy Leader of the Labour Party Harriet Harman aswell as a host of celebrity guests.

Be snap happy!
