Day 1 in Mayrhofen and the ‘calm before the storm’ feeling grew bigger with each coach load of Snowbombers arriving from the airport. With the local Spar frantically stocking their shelves with Jagermeister, we headed to the 5* Hotel Elisabeth for our first interview.
Pendulum have been touring the world relentlessly for a couple of years but seemed genuinely excited to be here as they tucked into the buffet breakfast.
On camera Ben and Gareth talked about everything from life on the road, to the next album, Britney Spears, and their love of Snowbombing: “It’s basically Ibiza on ice”.

12 hours later the friendly, funny, unassuming interviewees had transformed into the breath takingly aggressive rock stars the thousands of fans in the Racket Club venue had queued to see. A perfect start to the festival.
