Diamond in the rough...

Last Thursday saw the Stag and Dagger festival come to Shoreditch and there was one name on the set list that we here at MTV feel you should look out for as rumour has it, she is going to be huge!

I hadn't heard much about Marina and The Diamonds before the gig, just that she had played Brighton's Big Weekend before and was an up-and-coming female on the music scene.

Already a hit on MySpace, Marina and her Diamonds are about to take the music scene by storm and will be playing some of the huge festivals this summer from Bestival to Glastonbury...After seeing her at Stag and Dagger, I recommend you check her out.

If you like a fun, enthusiastic performer Marina is definitely for you. I can recommend the electro-sounding I Am Not A Robot from her EP, The Crown Jewels which is bound to be a huge hit with this summers festival go-ers.

Seventeen is also another song from the same EP to watch out for which the Stag and Dagger crowd (including myself!) loved.

Marina clearly loves performing and the highlight of the gig for me was her rendition of Gwen Stefani's What You Waiting For which showed her confidence taking on the great No Doubt songstress which is great to see in a new act.

The Crown Jewels EP will be released on 1st June and Marina promises the title will make sense soon enough!
